THE NEW AND IMPROVED NETWARE GUI
Many administrators and longtime console command gurus have frowned upon the GUI
support implemented in NetWare since version 5: Slow, undeveloped, and an
overall lack of functionality are some of their complaints. But have you looked
at it lately?
If you're using NetWare 5 and haven't applied the latest service pack (SP5 at
the time of writing), give it a try--at the least, you'll see that the GUI is
improving. This version updates your GUI to the look and feel of NetWare 5.1.
The look of the interface itself has been enhanced, rendered with better fonts,
and gradually improved in speed.
Here are some of the GUI enhancements that SP5 includes.

Window
Manager--has a nicer interface, buttons, title bars, and a
more proprietary Novell look. |

Backgrounds--uses
an updated application with better background
customization, including choice of colors and easier navigation. (You
can access it through Novell | Settings| Backgrounds.) |

XSetup--has
a totally new look and feel with much needed support for
more adapters and monitors. It now offers a more pleasant interface.

Taskbar--sports
an enhanced appearance with a nicer look for
minimized and running applications, as well as an improved Novell
button. |
So, give the NetWare GUI another chance--it's getting there!
