DISABLE A PROTOCOL FOR TROUBLESHOOTING PURPOSES

When troubleshooting protocol issues on your server, you don't need to
change or delete your bindings to prevent a protocol from binding to an
interface. This involves reconfiguring the bindings. If your
configuration is fairly complicated with multiple interfaces involved,
that process isn't too much fun.

Instead, just disable the protocol. For example, if you don't want
TCP/IP on any interfaces, disable the TCP/IP protocol.

At your server console, follow these steps:

Type LOAD INETCFG (or INETCFG in NetWare 5.x and up).
Select Protocols.
Choose the protocol in question.
Select Disable from Protocol Status at the top.
Exit and don't forget to save your changes.
After changing this setting, you can select Reinitialize System from
the main INETCFG menu or use the console command.

The protocol will no longer be bound and will be displayed as Pro-
Disabled in the Bindings menu of INETCFG.

To reactivate the protocol, follow the above steps, but choose Enable
for the desired protocol instead.
