FIND THE MOST ACTIVE THREADS IN NETWARE 5.X

You may have noticed that in NetWare 5, the Scheduling Information option from MONITOR.NLM is no longer available. But keeping the utilization on your server at normal levels should still be on every administrator's mind. If utilization is high on your server, you need to be able to determine what's using the processor so heavily. What method can you use to track down a processor-hogging thread?

You can use the same utility, MONITOR--all you have to do is navigate to a different menu.

Follow these steps at the server console:

The threads are listed by activity level, with the most active shown at
the top of the list. This can give you an idea of what could be causing
the problem. Then, you can perform tests by loading and unloading the
application in question, or you can contact the manufacturer if
necessary.
